Leysin

Il y a 10 jours, je suis allé avec les filles à Leysin, où le parrain et marraine de Kalia nous avaient invités. Les filles ont aidé à porter le bob jusqu'à la voiture.

The weekend before last, I took the girls up to Leysin, where we were invited by Kalia's godparents. The girls helped to take the bobsleigh to the car.

Arrivés à Leysin, les filles ont joué avec les enfants, puis après le déjeuner, ils se sont mis les 4 à porter le bob jusqu'à la piste de luge.

At the other end, after playing together, and some lunch, the kids combined their efforts to carry the bob down to where the snow was.

Mais avant de luger, nous avons goûter au 'toboganning' - qui consiste à descendre des pistes sur des genres de chambre à air. Les fille se sont éclatés.

Before that, we all had a go at 'toboganning' - sliding down prepared snow runs on glorified inner tubes, the girls had a whale of a time.

Après le goûter c'était au tour des parents.

After a quick snack, it was the parents' turn.

J'ai choisi 'frisson maximum', et c'est vrai que les quelques premiers mètres (verticales!) étaient pas mal!

I went for 'maximum thrill'. The most thrilling bit was the first 10 metres, obviously!

Il y a un restaurant igloo, et voilà la chapelle igloo.

There is an igloo restaurant, and this is the igloo chapel.

 

Avec bougie, icônes, une cloche sur le toit. Et une croix en glace dans le mur. On est rentré à la maison à 19h, fatigués mais contents..

Complete with candles, icons, a bell on the roof, and if you look carefully, and ice cross set into the wall. We got back home at 7pm, completely zonked, but happy.
