Life of Pi

Cette semaine nous (parents) sommes allés voir le Hobbit, avec les mêmes amis qui nous avaient accompagnés pour voir les trois films du Seigneur des Anneaux (y'a fort fort longtemps, av. blog).

Le Hobbit c'était pas mal, mais certaines scènes semblaient tirées en longueur - ça fait trop longtemps que j'ai lu le livre pour savoir, mais le 'chant et vaisselle' était un peu... voilà, et la scène interminable de combat/fuite dans la grotte des goblins m'avait l'air très suspect - préparation de terrain pour un jeu-vidéo (voilà que je te décroche un gros rocher en forme de boule de neige pour écraser les méchants, et que je dois sauter avec le bon timing depuis un pont en forme de balançoire...) 

Nous avons vu qu'une bande d'annonce: pour 'Life of Pi' - qui m'a laissé avec aucune idée de quoi il s'agit, ni pourquoi j'aurais envie d'aller voir ce film. Bizarre.

Tout ça pour dire qu'hier j'ai enfin rassemblé tous les éléments, et le temps nécessaires pour brancher mon Raspberry Pi au salon. La qualité d'image sur notre télé été affreuse, mais c'était sympa de voir que les filles sont aussi capables de s'amuser avec des jeux un peu 'retro'.

On Boxing Day we (parents) went to see The Hobbit with the same friends who accompanied us to watch the three Lord of the Rings films, many years ago (before blog).

It wasn't bad, though some scenes seemed to be a bit drawn-out. I read the book too long ago to remember, but the 'sing while throwing dishes' scene was a bit... weird, and the endless 'fight and flee' in the goblins' underworld just reeked of video game tie-in (let's loosen a big boulder which rolls and kills the enemies, and time our jump from the swinging bridge just right...)

We saw just one trailer, for Life of Pi, which left me totally clueless as to what it might be about, and why I'd want to see it. Weird.

Anyway, all of that is just a roundabout way to introduce the fact that I finally got the bits and time together to plug in my Raspberry Pi. The image quality on our ancient TV was appalling, but it didn't stop the girls having fun with some retro-style games.
