Balloon festival ... Montgofières

Réponse à l'énigme de l'autre jour: c'est une lachée de ballons. J'ai pris congé un mercredi après-midi pour aller au festival de Montgolfières à Château-d'Oex.

Follow up from the teaser, it was a how-far-will-your-helium-filled-balloon-go competition (whatever the name for that is in English). Culmination of a special 'kids afternoon' at the hot-air-balloon festival in Château-d'Oex.

C'était un après-midi spécial enfants - avec des vols attachés (le bonnet rose c'est Kalia).

There were free tethered flights for children - the pink hat is Kalia.

Il y avait toute sortes de Montgolfières rigolotes.

And lots of interestingly-shaped balloons (spot the piper).

Il y a de la neige aussi là-haut. Voilà une fraiseuse - et dérrière le camion était chargé de ... neige!

Lots of snow 'up there' - here's a special snow blower - followed by a truck full of ... snow!

On est allé en train - le Golden Pass. C'est mythique, on a traversé un tunnel, ET un nuage!

We went by train on the Golden Pass line - through a tunnel in the mountain, and through a cloud!
