Last week ... Il y a une semaine

Il y a une semaine à cette heure-ci, j'étais assis dans l'arrière de la voiture de mon frère à Namanga - à la frontière entre Tanzanie et Kenya, en train d'attendre pour savoir si on allait pouvoir importer sa voiture avec nous.

Pour finir, on a dû laisser la voiture.

Il vous faudra être patient, ce voyage en Afrique sera le sujet d'encore beaucoup d'articles ici - il y a tellement de choses à raconter de ce que j'ai vu. Et ensuite toutes les réflexions que ça m'a inspiré.

Un peu de contexte donc pour tout ce qui suivra:

Jeudi 1 on est parti de Dodoma en voiture, après 13 heures de route on est arrivé de l'autre côté d'Arusha.
Vendredi 2 on est reparti vers Nairobi, par la frontière à Namanga, où on devait exporter et importer la voiture de mon frère.
Samedi 3 on a passé à Nairobi
Dimanche 4 on est reparti à Londres, laissant mon frère sur place, mon père m'a dépose chez ma soeur à Reading
Lundi 5 je suis reparti à Heathrow où j'ai pris l'avion pour Genève où ma petite famille m'attendait en début d'après-midi.

This time last week, I was sat in the back of my brother's car in Namanga, on the Tanzania-Kenya border, waiting to see if they were going to let us import the car.

In the end we had to leave it.

You're going to have to bear with me here - this african trip is going to be the subject of many more posts - there are so many things to say about what I saw, and then all the thoughts that the trip inspired.

Here's a bit of context to help you through what will follow:

Thursday 1st we left Dodoma by car and got to Arusha 13 hours' drive later.
Friday 2nd, we set off for Nairobi, stopping at Namanga to export, then import the car
Saturday 3rd, we hung out in Nairobi
Sunday 4th, we flew back to London, leaving my brother in Nairobi. Dad dropped me off at my sister's place in Reading
Monday 5th, I went back to Heathrow and flew to Geneva to reunite with my princesses.
