Je reviens du cinéma où je viens de voir le film Avatar.

La vie réelle semble un peu fade du coup.

Just got back from seeing Avatar.

Real life now seeming slightly bland.

Voilà le gagnant du prix 'recyclage' en vidéo enfantine.

C'est ma belle soeur qui a offert cette vidéo de chants d'enfant anglais à Kalia, qui l'a beaucoup regardé. Maintenant elle regarde à nouveau, avec Rebecca, qui veut la regarder tout le temps !

Libby gave it to Kalia when she was still very small, and she watched it and watched it over and over. Now she's watching it again, because Rebecca wants it on (all the time!).

Avoir un père féru de photographie n'est pas complètement mauvais!

J'ai reçu pour Noël son 'ancien' appareil. Ce qui fait que j'ai maintenant 4 'anciens' appareils de sa part !

Plus encore un autre compacte argentique, et 'ma' numérique avec laquelle j'ai pris la photo

Le nouveau c'est un numérique SLR, donc ça va être plus facile de me motiver pour l'utiliser. Il faudrait juste que je termine au moins les pellicules dans les autres appareils - si seulement pour découvrir les photos qui y trainent depuis des années !

I am a willing beneficiary of my father's camera habit.

For Christmas I got his 'old' digital SLR, which means that I now have 6 cameras, four of which are 'inherited'. Like him, I have terrible difficulty throwing away a mechanical marvel like a camera.

The problem is, since I bought my digital compact, I've abandoned film cameras pretty badly. I really did ought to finish the films in them though, if only to discover what photos have been on them for so long!

J'étais mal fichu lundi et mardi, après ça allait mieux.

Nous avons passé une journée de Noël très sympa, juste nous quatre. Sans sortir de la maison.

Sans même sortir du pyjama!

Maintenant tout le monde dort (sauf moi, ça ne va pas tarder d'ailleurs).

My lurgy lasted two days - plus another 3 with not much voice.

We just spent a really nice 'low key' Christmas day together, just the four of us. Stayed in.

Stayed in our pyjamas, for that matter.

Now everyone's in bed, I'm uploading a few photos, and I'll be off too.

3 down ... N'en reste qu'un

Lundi passé, Kalia a commencé à se sentir mal - mal au ventre, mal à la tête, fièvre etc.
Rebecca y a passé à partir de mercredi.
Aujourd'hui (premier jour de vacances!) c'est mon tour - fièvre et douleurs dans les articulations.

Reste à voir si une irréductible Maman va tenir bon !

Last Monday, Kalia started feeling 'off' - dire rear, head ache, fever.
From Wednesday, it was Rebecca's turn.
Now it's my turn (first day of holiday, as it happens), fever and general aches.

Remains to be seen if Mamma will hold out!
