Quelques photos de ces dernières semaines: ici Kalia nage dans la fontaine - l'eau était tellement bonne, et le temps tellement chaude - qu'on y est retourné à dix heures du soir!

A few left over photos: here's Kalia swimming in a fountain. It was so warm (the water and the weather) that we went back to swim there at ten in the evening!

Il y a pire comme endroit pour se manger une petite pizza.

Ils font quoi ces mariés? Avec trois photographes positionnés comme ça, sûrement qu'ils ne vont pas...?

Family ... Famille

Il y a quelques semaines, les branches africaines en suisses de la famille ont pu passer une superbe semaine ensemble. On n'a pas fait grand chose d'extraordinaire, à part une journée à Swiss Vapeur Parc (où nous sommes déjà allés beaucoup de fois - y compris avec eux.

A few weeks back the African and Swiss branches of the family got to spend a wonderful week together. Mostly pottering around, but with one day out to Swiss Vapeur (you may recall us having been there many times before! Even with them).

Tout est parfaitement équilibré dans la famille, trois cousines et trois cousins.

Everything is perfectly balanced: three girly cousins and three boysie cousins.

Swiss Vapeur Parc c'est vraiment le pied, les enfants se sont éclatés.

Swiss Vapeur Parc is a great place, and the kids had a whale of a time.

Ruben nous a  presque montré comment il sait marcher.

Ruben almost-but-not-quite convinced to show us his new walking thing.

On a bien profité du beau temps, et du lac.

Several successive days spent swimming in the lake (that's the three eldest cousins on the raft).

Un jeu préféré des filles, faire semblant de se shooter.

Playing at pretending to knock each other down.

 

Tous ensemble, mais quand (et où?) sera la prochaine fois?

All together now, who knows when (are where!) it will be next time?

Au pays des enfants

Nous sommes allés à Château d'Oex pour le festival 'Au pays des enfants'. C'était magnifique. On a commencé par des histoires, racontées dans un yourt.

We went to Château d'Oex for a festival called "In children's land". It was wonderful. We started in the yurt where a lady was reading stories to the children.

Ensuite on a découvert tout plein d'instruments de musique insolites.

Then we went and played on tens of 'musical instruments' made out of pots and pans, bottles and boots etc.

Les filles ont pu s'essayer à la conduite d'une pelleteuse mécanique (ici dans la file d'attente!).

The girls got to try their hand and working a digger (a real one, I was jealous!).

Un drôle de bébé.

A strange baby.

Mais le top du top c'était 'le vache de manège et son orgameuh'. Le nom est un peu nul, mais j'étais abasourdi par la créativité de ceux qui ont inventé ce 'manège à énergie parentale', et l'orgue de barbarie. Je suis resté très très longtemps pour l'admirer.

This was the best bit for me. A 'parent-powered' merry-go-round, with associated barrel organ with cowbells incorporated. I spent a long time admiring it.

 

Mais c'est fatiguant tout ça.

It was a long day for some.
