Computer ... Ordinateur

Whenever I leave the PC unattended, a little girl climbs up onto the chair and starts playing with the mouse and keyboard. When she sees that I've seen her, she gives me a big cheeky smile like this.

Just got back from Lausanne, where I went to see Avatar - in 3d this time.

It was sold out, so I came straight back :(

Burj Dubai

Did someone say 'tall'?!

Those who know me, know that I'm not a particularly adventurous traveller. I've barely been out of Europe (Tunisia, for the curious), and am not particularly bothered.

But this is something that could seriously tempt me to visit the Middle East.

This 'thing' is 828m high. Can you imagine that?

I can't.

On the photo, the little dwarf-like buildings you can see on the left are 30 or 40 stories high.

Scary video here, and some more photos here.

Snow on snow ... Tout blanc

Photo impressionnante ici.

Pretty amazing photo here.

Sisters ... Soeurs

One day during the holidays, we were in town and Kalia decided to hold her sister's hand (Rebecca - amazingly - didn't mind for once).

We walked from the shopping centre back to the car, me behind with my hands in my pockets. The girls in front, holding hands, Kalia following my directions for 'left' and 'right'.

Christmas Day ...

Slightly delayed, here are a few photos of our Christmas day.

We got up quite late, breakfasted at around eleven, then opened some presents. Then a little snack before our afternoon nap.
Then another snack, and more presents.

By the time the dinner was ready, it was nine in the evening!

What can I say?

Mamma and Kalia (already in her pyjamas, wait, no, we didn't get dressed all day!)

Back to work ...

Back to work, and school, tomorrow.

We had an excellent two weeks off, and spent a lot of time just us four together.

I'd be quite happy to stay at home some more, but I'm also very grateful to not have a sinking feeling at the thought of going back to work - as I used to have when going back to school, back in the day.

Saw the film Gran Torino two days ago (on DVD this time). Thoroughly recommended.
