My ladies ... Mes dames

Spring is gently nudging winter aside, and so we did a family 'outing' into town and back on Saturday. Kalia on her new scooter, and Rebecca in her new pushchair.

We went via the lakeside, encouraged along by ice creams, waffles, coffees.

Not fighting ...

Here's a photo of Kalia and Rebecca being good sisters.

As long as Rebecca wasn't mobile, Kalia could just pretty much ignore her most of the time.

Now that Rebecca is moving, that's no longer an option. She's up and about and most interested in what her sister is doing.

That's life, and what brothers and sisters are for, I guess.

But we do hope and pray that they will grow to love each other and get on well together, despite their differences.

CHF8.60

That's how much it cost me to replace this little spring which brings the clutch pedal back up. (That and one hour bent double under the steering wheel trying to work out which way up it went...)

In any case, a whole lot cheaper than the 1700 francs it cost me to replace the clutch!

Don't think I'll be going back to pay the premium for 'qualified Ford service' any time soon...

1 year ... 1 an

Un an ça passe vite (voir ici).

Don't know what I was doing wrong, but the camera started working again. Missed her birthday, but here is a photo taken since, of the one-year-old Rebecca.

The pose is not for the photo - she's in moving position. She lifts herself up on left hand and right foot, and brings her left leg underneath. She can get around pretty fast like that, which explains why she's not particularly motivated for walking.

A year can go past very fast! It's such a delicious experience to get to know your baby, to watch her personality unfold, see how two sisters can be so different, even at such a young age.

(Meanwhile, this is quite funny, and unfortunately probably quite accurate).

Here's a photo of Kalia when she was about the same age Rebecca is now. She's been walking for about a month. Rebecca took her first small steps two days ago. In two days she'll be one year old. Tempus fugit.

The Shack

(Thanks to Luc for this photo, the battery for my camera is dead).

There's a mini international (Switzerland, Africa, UK) debate by email going on in our family at the moment about the christian bestseller (aren't they all?) "The Shack", which is suspected of being heretical in some quarters.

I can't add a great deal of detail, given that I haven't actually read it yet, but that didn't stop me chipping in on the discussion (ignorance never stopped anyone having an opinion yet, did it?)

The meta-question that interests me is the role and importance of theology in our everyday lives. I do wonder whether - given the general lack of real and active conviction for the finer details of most of our beliefs - whether the majority of heresies wouldn't make much difference anyway.

You say, "what do you believe?"
I say, "what do you believe, and what difference does it make?"
